Hello to all of you who have been cheering Last Memories. This is Kumon from enish.
The second phase of the presale is coming to an end and is about to sell out. (As of this writing, there are less than 10% left on the official website!) ) It seems that many people have picked up NFT DOLLs, and the whole team is filled with gratitude. Now that you have your own NFT DOLLs, you are probably wondering when the title will be released.
We are currently giving you an estimated release date, saying that we aim for somewhere in June, as early as we can. Since the development status is in flux, it is quite difficult to fix a release date, so we would like to share information with you so that you can grasp the progress and have an idea of the release date.
In this first issue, we will explain the general framework of the development process, which is the first step in understanding the progress of the project.
We will try to provide as much information as possible in an easy-to-understand manner, including terms and concepts unique to game development. We hope you will join us.
The contents of this article were also explained in an AMA with the Japan Gaming Guild, a Web3 gaming guild, on Thursday, May 9, 2024. It can be viewed in the archive below.

First, please see the diagram below showing the flow of game development.
As you can see, game development proceeds from the items on the left of the diagram to the items on the right.
If written out in words, the flow is as follows.
1) Specification Design
2) Server-side Development / Data Creation
3) Client-side Development / Art Resource Creation
4) QA (testing / polishing)
5) Debugging / Fixing
6) Complete
The order of 2 and 3 may be switched or work in parallel, depending on the development part. The process for 4 and 5 is repeated in a roundabout way.
The following is a rough overview of the entire process (completed and in-progress).
The specification design is complete, the production of art resources is almost complete, and we are currently in the stage of QA for items that are ready for confirmation while proceeding with the development of other items.
We expect to complete the server-side and client-side development by the end of May, with QA and level-design adjustments to be completed in June.
Development progress:
First, we will explain the progress of "server-side development" and "Client-side development" in the orange
area.
Many of the items of Part1 and Part2 have been mostly developed, but there are still items in the end contents area that are still under development. The raid dungeon, which is difficult and requires a well-raised master DOLL, is still under development, and we hope to implement and release it one month after release.
In addition, a union dungeon that can be challenged by up to 50 guild members will be implemented and released at the time of release, which is also under development.
The daily dungeon structure is in place, but we are working on mass-producing gimmicks to increase the scope of play.
Land Dungeon is a maze-like dungeon, where you explore aiming for the room where the boss is, and we are currently mass-producing various gimmicks for it.
For Part3, the server side development is basically complete.
The tutorial is still under development, as it will be adjusted and finished after the other specifications are completed. (It will most likely be left until the end)
"Charisma," which was also asked about in JGG's AMA where this development progress report was conducted, is a kind of buff that can raise the status and abilities of all DOLLs based on the player's level, and has already been implemented. It is an image that if you play hard, you will get a basic ability increase.
As for the Arena (PvP), while the entry mechanism has already been implemented, the matching function is currently under development. (The items appear several times and are difficult to understand, but this is due to the fact that different people are in charge of different items.)
The profile is almost complete, but the EARN related display is a remaining task and is still under development as a status.
Part4 is more orange, partly because it contains many items that will not be implemented and published at the time of release.
The Glory War (GvG) is an item that is still under development, which can only be played with well-raised DOLLs, and we are aiming to implement and release it within a month after release.
Events 1-4 are under development, although we will avoid mentioning specific details because it would be a spoiler.
Screen transitions and startup flow, along with tutorials, are scheduled for completion at the end of the development process.
Here is a summary of the rate of progress at this point.
Next, let's look at QA and debugging progress. In terms of the overall flow, it refers to this orange section.
In terms of management, the idea is to create bug tickets like the one below and track them until they are closed. (The image here is an actual capture of existing tickets.)
The graph below shows the increase/decrease in terms of bug tickets.
The orange line is the actual number (i.e., remaining number), red is the number of new additions, and blue is the number of resolutions. We will work to keep the orange graph closer to 0.
However, since a bug ticket can be filed even for something like "the text is off by a few pixels in the UI," we sometimes discard a certain number of bugs based on their level of importance.
Although the number of bug tickets is increasing steadily at this point, we believe that it is not a major problem in the development process (in other words, it is a common and smooth process).
Well, How did you find it?
