Hello everyone,
This is Kumon from enish.

Happy New Year! Today, I’d like to share some important updates about balance adjustments we’re making in response to unfair play in the game.

Unfortunately, holiday seasons often see a rise in exploitative behavior. This year was no exception, and instead of enjoying a peaceful New Year, our development team and I spent a lot of time tackling cheating and other issues.

Many of you reported unusual activity through our forms—thank you so much for helping us! Your input was invaluable, and I want to express my gratitude to everyone who reached out.

While quick fixes are essential, we’re also working on structural solutions to prevent these problems from happening again. Let me walk you through the changes we’re implementing.

Changes to BOX Drops in Build Mode

We’ve been closely monitoring Build Mode for unauthorized activity, such as bots being used to repeatedly farm GEEKBOXes and Engraving BOXes. Although we’ve been identifying and banning these users, we’re now introducing a more permanent fix.

This exploit allows cheaters to quickly deplete NFT balances through an unrealistic number of plays, even with low earnLv. To address this issue, we’re introducing daily caps on BOX drops in Build Mode.

We’ve designed this system to minimize the impact on regular players, but some of you might experience minor inconveniences. We appreciate your understanding as we work to make the game fairer for everyone.

New Rules for BOX Drops

GEEKBOX and Engraving BOX drops will now have a daily cap based on the number of plays in Build Mode.

You can still play Build Mode as much as you like, but BOXes won’t drop after you reach the daily limit.

Note: The cap is based on the number of plays, not the number of BOXes dropped.
Note: The play count includes battles where you retire mid-battle.

In response to your comments, we will make some changes.

The data on which we based the setting of the maximum number of plays was the actual number of “build mode plays per earnLv”. We had set a number that had almost no deviation from the actual situation (i.e., an upper limit that would not affect the majority of you). However, there was a possibility that some of the most dedicated players, whose play counts were significantly higher than their earnLv, might be affected by the data.

Therefore, we set a new upper limit by pushing the number of times that these players can learn without any problems (and it is also a valid anti-fraud measure).

There is also another type of cheating that was actually done in build mode, although I did not include it in the original letter because I did not want to disclose the specific procedure. If a GEEKBOX drops during build mode play and it is not a silver BOX or higher, the player will retire without picking it up and preserve the BOX balance.

This cheat was being abused to obtain only silver or higher BOXes, greatly exceeding the expected value of obtaining xGEEK. This countermeasure is designed to do just that.

We have revised our policy as follows to reflect everyone's opinions and also to counteract the selective selection of silver boxes.

・The maximum number of times to reach the limit will be revised. (Details are shown in the table below.)
・Retirement, or not returning from an app exit or disconnection, will result in a 3 times consumption of the right.

GEEKBOX Drop Limits

The daily play cap for GEEKBOX drops depends on your earnLv:
earnLv Max Plays Per Day
Below 60 57
60 69
100 715
200 1132
300 1851
500 3792
1000 119210

Note: These are sample levels for clarity. Limits increase incrementally for each level (rounded to the nearest whole number).

Engraving BOX Drop Limits

For Engraving BOXes, the daily drop limit is set at a flat rate for all players:

Daily Drop Limit
5times20times

★5 Awakening Material Bug Update

We previously announced a bug involving ★5 awakening materials, where materials meant for ★5-4 could also be used for ★5-3.

This issue will be fixed in the next update, scheduled for January 10.

For now, if you’ve already used the materials, don’t worry—it’s fine to continue using them until the fix is applied. Since ★5 awakening materials are rare, this could be a great opportunity to use them if you need to.

That’s all for this update. I apologize for starting the year with a topic like this, but these adjustments are essential to protect Last Memories and the GEEK ecosystem. Thank you for your understanding and support.

As always, we welcome your feedback (though I can’t reply individually, I personally review every submission):
